See stylish home improvements and decorating ideas at 6 Eastmoreland residences: Duniway Holiday Home Tour

Are you searching for stylish ways to decorate for the holidays? Do you wish for smart home improvement ideas or to see how historic houses can be updated while preserving their original character?

The 41st Duniway Holiday Home Tour and Artisan Boutique on Friday, Dec. 6, is your chance to see inside six private residences, newly improved and adorned in festive decor, and to shop for locally made gifts.

The Southeast Portland houses in the Eastmoreland neighborhood range in age, from 1924 to 1937, and styles, from classic to eclectic, and have plenty of original features. Each showcases unique architecture and landscape design, say tour organizers who are members of the Duniway Elementary School PTA.

The self-paced tour, held in two sessions, from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and 5 p.m.-9 p.m., supports art programs and cultural enrichment for Duniway Elementary School students.

Tour tickets, which includes trolley transportation to the six houses, are $35 at the door, or $30 in advance at Entrance to the Artisan Boutique in the Duniway gym is free and open to everyone.

The tour begins at Duniway Elementary School, 7700 S.E. Reed College Place. Attendees can pick up their tour booklet at the boutique.

From there, they can hop on a trolley that loops by each of the houses, allowing people to see them in any order.
